Air conditioning
in Wimbledon SW19
Big Edwardian and Victorian houses with the rooms to match, a tightly controlled Village conservation area, and a lot of loft conversions that bake from May onwards.
From £2,400 fitted. We work in SW19 regularly.
Brands we work with

We install, service and repair air conditioning across Wimbledon SW19. A single room is £2,400 to £3,200 fitted and a whole house is £8,400 to £11,300, with a free survey and a written price that does not change.
A larger machine than the same job in Enfield, because the rooms are bigger. A 5 kW unit in a principal bedroom with the condenser at ground level or on a low plinth, one day on site.
A job we did in SW19
Wimbledon SW19
Vaillant twin-fan air source heat pump
A larger twin-fan machine raised onto a brick plinth, which lifts the coil clear of leaf litter and puts the fans above the level a low fence would reflect.
What the housing in Wimbledon means for the job
Wimbledon divides sharply. Up the hill towards the Village and along the Ridgway the houses are large, detached or substantial semis, with rooms big enough that sizing matters more than anything else: a 3.5 kW unit that would be generous in a terrace is marginal in a 30 square metre Edwardian bedroom. Down towards the town centre and South Wimbledon it is Victorian and Edwardian terraces with narrow side returns and the usual rear-elevation answer. The Village and the streets around it are a conservation area and the controls there are among the strictest in south London.
Worth knowing before you book. The photograph at the top of this page is a twin-fan unit on a brick plinth, and the plinth is the point. Raising a larger machine lifts the coil clear of leaf litter and puts the fans above the level a low fence reflects, which is what keeps a big unit quiet in a garden with neighbours close by.

Air conditioning in Wimbledon: common questions
I am in the Wimbledon Village conservation area. Can I have one?
Usually yes, but not under permitted development if the unit would be visible from the road. That means a planning application rather than a refusal, and it is worth establishing before anything is designed.
Behind the building line at the rear the position is normally straightforward. The eight conditions.
Why would I need a bigger unit here?
Because the rooms are bigger. Output is driven by floor area, glazing and aspect, and a large Edwardian bedroom with a bay and a south-facing wall can need double what a modern box room needs.
The sizing calculator works it out properly rather than by rule of thumb.
Is there a travel charge to SW19?
No. There is no travel surcharge anywhere we work, and south-west London is normal work rather than a trip.
What can move a price in central and inner London is the congestion charge and parking suspension, and neither applies here.
