What the housing in Whetstone means for the job
N20 is mostly interwar semi-detached and detached housing with real gardens, which is the straightforward end of London installing: side access, room for a proper base, and a boundary far enough away that noise is somebody's preference rather than a problem. Towards Totteridge the houses get considerably bigger, and a whole-house system there is four or five indoor units rather than one or two, with the condenser sized for all of them running at once. Along the High Road there are newer flats and a run of small commercial premises, which is a different job again.
Worth knowing before you book. On the larger houses the mistake is sizing the condenser for the rooms people use rather than for all of them at once. If the plan is to add a room later, it is far cheaper to size for it now.

Can one outdoor unit serve the whole house?
Up to a point. One condenser runs several indoor units, but every room still needs its own unit and the condenser has to be sized for all of them together.
