We replaced a gas boiler in Wimbledon SW19 with a Vaillant twin-fan air source heat pump in three days, with the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant taken off the price. The unit stands raised on a brick plinth.

Why a plinth
Raising the unit onto a brick plinth lifts the coil clear of leaf litter and puts the fans above the height a low fence would reflect back. It also keeps the base clear for the defrost water.

The old boiler came out and the heat pump went in, filled, tested and commissioned within three days.
