We installed a Samsung 12kW high temperature heat pump, an 8.65kWp solar system of 19 Jinko panels and a Tesla Powerwall 3 at a house in Hemel Hempstead HP1. The Powerwall stores 13.5kWh through its built-in 11.04kW hybrid inverter and keeps power available during a grid outage.
Hot water comes from a 300-litre Tempest unvented cylinder with a 50-litre buffer. The solar part of the installation qualifies for 0% VAT.

Heat pump and battery side by side
The heat pump and the battery are on the same elevation, so the pump can run on stored solar generation through the evening instead of on the most expensive electricity of the day.

2A battery with its own inverter
The Powerwall 3 has an 11.04kW hybrid inverter built in and a round-trip efficiency of 97.5%, so the panels charge it directly with very little lost on the way.
