Why the MSZ-AP is the one we fit most
Because in the room it is usually going into, nobody can tell it apart from the flagship. The MSZ-AP is quiet, efficient and plain, it uses the same compressor technology and the same controls as the range above it, and the money saved buys the electrical work that the job actually needs.
The MSZ-LN earns its price in two situations: a bedroom where somebody is a light sleeper, and a room where the unit is in direct view and a matt black front is worth paying for. Outside those two, we will usually steer you to the AP and say why.
Sound, and the number that actually matters
The MSZ-LN reaches 19 dB(A) at its lowest fan speed and the AP is close behind. But the indoor figure is rarely the one that causes trouble. The outdoor unit is what a neighbour hears, and a domestic Mitsubishi outdoor unit sits in the same 46 to 52 dB(A) band at one metre as everybody else's.

MELCloud, and whether app control is worth anything
It is worth something specific rather than something general. Being able to turn the bedroom on from the train twenty minutes before you get home is the use case that people actually use, and it is worth having.
Scheduling is worth more and almost nobody sets it up. A system that comes on at low output an hour before you need it costs less to run than one that is asked to drop a hot room by four degrees in ten minutes, because it never has to work at full load. What it costs, and why the brand is not the reason
This is the same table as everywhere else on this site, and that is deliberate. Across the brands we fit, the indoor unit is a minority of an installed price. The rest is the pipe run, the core drilling, the electrical work, the outdoor position and the commissioning, and none of that changes because of the badge on the front.

How much is a Mitsubishi Electric air conditioning installation in London?

What is the difference between MSZ-LN and MSZ-AP?
The LN is the flagship: slightly quieter at the very bottom of its fan range, better air purification, and available in finishes other than white. The AP is the volume model and is quiet, efficient and plain.
In a normal room, correctly sized and correctly positioned, most people would not pick the LN out in a blind test. In a light sleeper's bedroom, they would.
Do you service Mitsubishi systems you did not install?
Yes, any make and any age, including systems installed by companies that are no longer trading. An annual service is 95 pounds plus VAT and a fault diagnosis is 89 pounds plus VAT, waived if we do the repair. See servicing.
Mitsubishi Electric or Mitsubishi Heavy Industries?
They are two separate companies and the equipment is not the same. Mitsubishi Electric is the one most UK homes have and the one this page is about. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries makes good equipment too and tends to be a little cheaper for a comparable specification.
It is worth checking which one a quote is actually for, because the two get used interchangeably in conversation and they are not interchangeable in price.
